hypothesis: wisdom is probably about how many diverse, complex, far-reaching bits of information you’ve encountered, and actively integrated into the rest of yourself

people are dense with information - from reading their own books, speaking to their own networks, and drawing from their own experimentation. If they’re diverse, then they cover more space.

People are summaries of many books, many histories, many cultures, many mistakes, and passed down wisdom from many ages and times. Also - it’s easy to talk back and forth to people, and be playful with them - encouraging active learning, encouraging integration.

We also like to imitate one another and find idols, so it’s easier to take inspiration from a person and fold their actions into our own than it is to do it from books

Age might be decent, but obviously being a shut in for 1000 years doesn’t make you wise
